Kyle Andrews-The Way To Wonder

This crazy and cute boy, Kyle Andrews, comes from Nashville and runs his own record label under the title "Elephant Lady Records". His first project to break the Guinness World Record for the largest water balloon fight went viral and his second project just got real. We are talking about "The Way To Wonder" ,where a camera and an Ipad are attached to a weather balloon and launched up to 110.000 feet. He is up in the sky without even leaving the ground. You can watch the video and read the lyrics here.

Kyle Andrews-The Way To Wonder

This is the new amazing
This is the world we wanted
This is the life we dreamed of,
This is me and you

This is the trip we’re taking
This is the road we’re on
These are the plans we’re making
This is me and you

Finding that spot with the view of everything
Climb up to the top, in the blue, we are feeling free
This is the way to wonder

These are the stars we wish on
These are the words we say
This is the chance we’re taking,
This is me and you

This is the ground we walk on
This is where we stand
These are the friends we lean on
This is me and you

Finding that spot with the view of everything
Climb up to the top, in the blue, we are feeling free
This is the way to wonder

This is the new amazing
This is the trip we’re on
This is the chance we’re taking
This is me and you

This is the night we’re chasing
This is the sound of love
This is laugh we’re making
This is me and you

Finding that spot with the view of everything
Climb up to the top, in the blue, we are feeling free
This is the way to
Finding that sṗot with the view of everything
Climb up to the top, in the blue, we are feeling free
This is the way to wonder
This is the way to wonder

This is the new amazing
This is the trip we’re on
This is the new amazing
This is the road to wonder

This is the new amazing
This is the trip we’re on
This is the new amazing
This is the new amazing
This is the road to wonder

Matt Costa-Good Times

Matt Costa comes from California. He taught himself music, in general! In order to get some inspiration he listened to Mozart and started to write some pop/rock melodies. In his songs, someone can easily get confused by the happy tempo and the dark lyrics. "Good Times" for example begin very optimistic but they end up by "coming to an end". He has already released 4 indepedent albums and his music has been featured in movies, advertisements and documentaries. You can watch the "Good Times" and read the lyrics here.

Matt Costa-Good Times

Baby we're running out of money
Honey we're running out of dough
I'm turning back to the man that I once was
But it was fun to fool them for a while

Finally those… good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end
Good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end

Everyone smiles for a sad song
Especially when they're riding high
But right now it's a crying shame
That the good times are coming to an end

Finally those… good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end
All those… good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end

I won't miss those fancy dinners
Won't even miss those fancy clothes
I won't miss that girl I love
I'm just turning back to the man that I once was

Finally those… good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end
All those… good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end
[x2]

Babe we're running out of money
Honey we're running out of dough
Let's slow it all in a fiery bash
And the rest we'll put up into smoke

Finally those… good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end
All those… good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end

All those… good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end
All those… good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end

Good times are coming
Those good times are coming now
Good times are coming
Those good times are coming now
Good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end

Good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end
All those… good times are coming
Those good times are coming
Good times are coming… to an end
Good times are coming… to an end

The Paper Kites-Bloom

We could talk about Melbourne, cause I truly believe that in that place great music legends are born, but right now I choose to talk especially about The Paper Kites. They became famous and got loved by the internet. They built their audience and their fans used the word-of-mouth strategy in order to help their music to expand. The five members used to be good friends before they formed their band and this is something you can feel it while you listen to them. They could be easily compared to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. "Bloom" is a sweet melody and it fits with a cup of coffee. You can watch the music video and read the lyrics of "Bloom" here.

The Paper Kites-Bloom

In the morning when I wake
And the sun is coming through,
Oh, you fill my lungs with sweetness,
And you fill my head with you.

Shall I write it in a letter?
Shall I try to get it down?
Oh, you fill my head with pieces
Of a song I can't get out.

Can I be close to you?
Ooh-oo-oo-ooh, ooh (smile).
Can I be close to you?
Ooh, ooh.

Can I take it to a morning
Where the fields are painted gold
And the trees are filled with memories
Of the feelings never told?

When the evening pulls the sun down,
And the day is almost through,
Oh, the whole world it is sleeping,
But my world is you.

Can I be close to you?
(Ah) ooh (aah), ooh (aah).
Can I be close to you?
(Ah) ooh (aah), ooh (aah).

*whistling*

Can I be close to you?
(Ah) ooh (aah), ooh (aah).
Can I be close to you?
(Ah) ooh (aah), ooh (aah).

Can I be close to you?
Ooh, ooh.

HAIM-Falling

Three sisters from LA, Daniele, Alana and Este became one by creating their own band. The HAIMs introduced to us as a refreshing
old school soft-pop band. Even if they are too young  and their band too new, they have already supported Mumford & Sons and Florence + The Machine to their tours. Interviews to the biggest radio stations, magazines and tvshows have been happening since then. "Falling" is their new song, which I am pretty sure is going to blow your minds.Get ready for a massive breath of fresh air. You can watch the music video of "Falling" and read the lyrics here.

HAIM-Falling

I look into the moment like I’m standing at the edge
But no ones gonna turn me around
Just one more step, I could let go
Oh and in the middle, I hear the voices
And they’re calling for me now
But nothing’s gonna wake me now
Cause I’m a slave to the sad heaven

And they’re calling,
Don’t stop, no, I’ll never give up
And I’ll never look up, just hold your head up
And if it gets rough, it’s time to get rough
They keep saying:
Don’t stop, no one’s ever enough
I’ll never look up, never give up
And if it gets rough, it’s time to get rough
But now falling, falling, falling
Falling, falling, falling, falling
Falling, falling, falling, falling

I look up and down,
And I can feel the eyes, they’re watching us so closely oh
I’m trying not to make a sound
Cause I’ll be found out some high oh

So keep calling,
Don’t stop, no, I’ll never give up
And I’ll never look up, just hold your head up
And if it gets rough, it’s time to get rough
They keep saying:
Don’t stop, no one’s ever enough
I’ll never look up, never give up
And if it gets rough, it’s time to get rough

Step into the fire feeling higher than the truth
(I’m falling)
I can feel the heat but I’m not burning
(but now I’m falling)
Feeling desire, feel the tired …
(I’m falling)
Feels like I’m falling, yeah
I can hear them calling

Step into the fire feeling higher than the truth
(I’m falling)
I can feel the heat but I’m not burning
(but now I’m falling)
Feeling desire, feel the tired …
(I’m falling)
Feels like I’m falling, yeah
I can hear them calling
(now I’m falling)

falling, falling, falling
Falling, falling, falling, falling
Falling, falling, falling, falling
Oh and now I’m falling

falling, falling, falling
Falling, falling, falling, falling
Falling, falling, falling, falling
Oh and now I’m falling

Falling, falling, falling, falling
Fall yeah
Falling, falling, falling, falling
Fall yeah

Into the fire feeling higher than the truth
(I’m falling)
I can feel the heat but I’m not burning
(but now I’m falling)
Feeling desire, feel the tired …
(I’m falling)
Feels like I’m falling, yeah
I can hear them calling for me
(now I’m falling)

Into the fire feeling higher than the truth
(I’m falling)
I can feel the heat but I’m not burning
(but now I’m falling)
Feeling desire, feel the tired …
(I’m falling)
It Feels like I’m falling, yeah
I can hear them calling for me
(now I’m falling)

never look up, never give up
never look up, never give up
never look up, never give up
I’ll never give up
I’ll never give up

LOMW: Είναι τιμή μας που σ’ έχουμε στο LOMW για να απαντήσεις μερικές ερωτήσεις μας! Για να ξεκαθαρίσουμε τα πράγματα, εγώ ρωτάω από την Ελλάδα και εσύ από πού ακριβώς μας απαντάς;

LOMW: Στις 15 Απριλίου κυκλοφόρησε το πρώτο άλμπουμ με τίτλο;
LOMW: Αφού έκανα like στην σελίδα σου στο Facebook, πρόσεξα ότι ως τόπο διαμονής έχεις «Λονδίνο/Λίβερπουλ/ο Κόσμος». Γιατί το έχεις συμπληρώσει με αυτόν τον τρόπο;
LOMW: Το YouTube είναι μια τεράστια κοινότητα και έχεις ήδη το κανάλι σου εκεί. Δεν μπορούσα  παρά να προσέξω τις πάμπολλες διευθύνσεις που οδηγούν σε δικά σου πράγματα. Πιστεύεις ότι όλοι γνωρίζουν να χειρίζονται αυτά τα πράγματα;
LOMW: Μιας και είδα πόσα URLs έχουν να κάνουν με σένα, πρέπει να ρωτήσω αν πιστεύεις πως ο κόσμος της μουσικής είναι καλύτερος με το ίντερνετ;
LOMW: Πόσο εύκολο είναι να ξεκινάς την διαδρομή σου στην μουσική από το μηδέν;
LOMW: Αφού τέλειωσες με τις σπουδές σου στο LIPA έφτασες μέχρι και το BBC. Πόσο φοβερό ήταν αυτό;
LOMW: Τι συμβουλή θα έδινες σε άλλους μουσικούς σαν κι εσένα ώστε να πετύχουν;
LOMW: Κάτι πιο προσωπικό τώρα, τί είναι αυτό που σε εμπνέει περισσότερο και σε κάνει να γράφεις μουσική αμέσως;
LOMW: Πρόσφατα άκουσα τους Daughter να διασκευάζουν το Get Lucky των Daft Punk. Το αποτέλεσμα νομίζω πως είναι απ’ αλλού φερμένο. Γιατί πιστεύεις πως αρέσει στους καλλιτέχνες να κάνουν διασκευές;
LOMW: Ποιο τραγούδι θα ήθελες να διασκευάσεις περισσότερο, γιατί και πως θα το διασκεύαζες;

Natalie McCool-Dust and Coal

You're the star and I watch you burn

I'm the moon on a different turn
You're so full but I feel so old
You can't spark desire upon dust and coal

Slowly turn separate ways

Fitful night, comes each day
And as we dissolve, there comes a crack in the wall
Take hold of my hand, and pull me through the shame of it all

I'd rather never see you again

Set fire to the ship than let you be my friend

You're the star and I watch you burn

I'm the moon on a different turn
You're so full but I feel so old
You can't spark desire upon dust and coal

I won't be carved in stone

Beautiful flesh and bone
I can't stand looking at you through a veil
Let go of my hand, can't you see we're top and tail

I'd rather never see you again

Set fire to the ship than let you be my friend

Than let you be my friend

You're the star and I watch you burn

I'm the moon on a different turn
You're so full but I feel so old
You can't spark desire upon dust and coal

Interview: Natalie McCool

I am not alone here today. It's my pleasure to post an interview with Natalie McCool. She is talking about her journey to music and her point of view about social networking. I had fun! I hope you'll like it too. :)

Long-Distance Q&A

LOMW: It’s my honour to have you answering this Q&A for LOMW. To make things
clear, I am asking from Greece and you are answering from where exactly?

NATALIE: Hello! I am answering from Liverpool, NorthWest UK!

LOMW: On April 15th you had the release of your debut album, which is going out
under what name?

NATALIE: The album is eponymously titled, so that means it is just titled by my name
‘Natalie McCool’.

LOMW: After I liked your page on Facebook, I've noticed that as your Hometown
you have “London/Liverpool/The World”. Why have you filled it like that?

NATALIE: Because I am based between Liverpool (my ‘home’) and London, and also
because of the internet and social media I can reach out into ‘The World’
too!

LOMW: YouTube is a huge community and you have there your own channel. I
couldn’t help but notice the great sidebar with links that lead to your own
stuff. Do you believe that people are familiar enough with these things?

NATALIE: Yes I think it’s really easy for people to find other videos you have on
YouTube, if someone likes a video, they can then find out about / watch
more.

LOMW: Since I see how many URLs relate with you and your personal information,
I have to ask, do you think that the music-world is a better place with
internet?

NATALIE: Yes I do because people really idolise their favourite bands and artists, and
the internet has created a direct channel between the two. You can
communicate direct with people, your fans can find out all about you and
your music. I like to read up everything I can on artists / bands I love, and
the internet has made this possible!
Also I think you can really give something back to your fans if you have
your own Website, Twitter, Facebook, a mailing list – you can give fans
advance listens of new material, extra material like photos / lyrics etc. I
think it’s great.

LOMW:
How easy is to begin your own journey to music from scratch?
NATALIE: Well my dad used to play blues guitar when I was young, and from having
lots of guitars around the house I just started to pick them up and play. Then
I played guitar all the way through school and college, and got into
Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) with guitar as my first
instrument. So before I started singing and writing songs, I played guitar,
which I think inspires my songwriting a lot.

LOMW: After you finished your studies at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts
you made it to the BBC. How cool is that?

NATALIE: Yes I did a live interview at the BBC Radio 2 studios in London. That was
when I released ‘Fortune’ which is a track from my debut album. It was an
amazing experience, talking live on the radio and then listening to myself
back was surreal!

LOMW: What kind of hints would you give to other musicians like you in order to
have success?

NATALIE: Be really good! Perform in front of people as much as you can, practice a
lot, write lots of songs…those are the things I would start out doing.

LOMW: Under a more personal note, what thing does inspire you the most and get
you into song writing right away?

NATALIE: I like to write about relationships between people most of all, and I like to
challenge people. The songs I am most proud of writing are the ones I wrote
when going through some sort of emotional catalyst. I also think it helps you
creatively when you’re going through a really hard time, I never want to
write when I’m really happy; and I think that is true for most
artists/songwriters.
LOMW: Recently, I’ve listened to Daughter, covering Daft Punks’ “Get Lucky”. The
outcome is like from outer space. Why do you think musicians like to cover
songs?

NATALIE: Haha! I think musicians are inspired by so many different types of music,
not necessary the music they make, and it’s good to take a song you love
which may not originally be in your style, but to then make it your style.
My band & I did this with 2 tracks from the Drive movie OST – ‘Nightcall’
by Kavinsky and ‘A Real Hero’ by College feat. Electric Youth. A link to
the video on Youtube is below:
http://youtu.be/RtpAVTPJaJQ

LOMW: Which song would you like to cover the most, why and how would you
cover it?

NATALIE: That’s a hard one – we really love our cover of ‘Nightcall’!
I did a cover of ‘Wondrous Place’ by Billy Fury – who was a singer from
Liverpool in the 1950s / 60s, which I changed the feel of a lot. I used a delay
pedal with a warp effect to get a ‘drone’ on the root note, and then sang the
whole song over the one drone. Here’s a link to the video on YouTube:
http://youtu.be/iIrMtzqgCnQ

LOMW: This was my first interview ever. It felt really good for me! I hope it did the
same for you too. Before we call it a wrap, I’d like you to salute the Greek
audience by using a Greek word...(Google-Translate is allowed and “Copy-
Paste” too).

NATALIE:

Lucy Rose-Scar

This girl was born in 1989 in England. Lucy Rose may be too young but her impact is huge in the indie music. We met her doing the vocals for Bombay Bicycle Club but now she introduces herself by releasing her first solo album under the title "Like I Used To". Lucy begun her journey in music when she was a kid, playing the drums for school shows. Later she bought her own guitar and started to play it all alone. Now, she writes some of the best indie-folk songs. "Scar" is a song from the debut album and the music video was directed by Orestes Mitas -I think he is from Cyprus-  ,who did an excellent job. You can watch "Scar" and read the lyrics here.

Lucy Rose-Scar

If I were brave enough to
Ask you to stay
Would that scar upon your lip
Move and come my way

Watch your eyes change from
Blue and back to green
Something deep inside of me is
Telling me to leave
But I don't want to have to let you go

Let this part of me
Remember how lovely we are, we are

If you saw in my mind
How I felt
You would hold me tight
And ask nothing else

I want you but I hate to say those words
But here I am
Standing right in front of you
Asking for a hand
But I don't want to have to let you go

Let this part of me
Remember how lovely we were, we were, we were, we were

If I don't get out
If I don't get out
If I don't get out
I have to leave somehow
But I'll never leave this town

Help me through this
Help me through this
Help me through this
Help me

You said you would be waiting
For me
