Wild Cub-Thunder Clatter

In 2012, a new indie band formed in Nashville. Those 5 guys you see in the picture are the "Wild Cub". The lead singer was in Brooklyn but he moved to Nashville in order to focus in music 100%. There, he put together the Wild Cub. Their music is a form of celebration of love and flirt. Thunder Clatter is just that! Their debut album "Youth" has received many positive reviews from magazines such as the Clash. All of the press think that this band is going to stay for a long time, once they get pretty popular! You can watch their music video and read the lyrics here.

Wild Clatter-Thunder Clatter

I see you hidden in the night I found you
I see you separate from the others.
Bent crooked in the light around you
Bathing in the sight of the others.

I couldn't say what I was thinking
My heart shrinking
Two sad sparks blinking in the sun
Wait one minute
I had to listen for it
It was hidden in the fall
Hidden in the fall
Waiting on love to call
Hidden in the fall

I met you in the dead of winter
I stood stranded in the water
Dug deeper than a crooked splinter
I turned away from all the others

I couldn't say what I was thinking
My heart shrinking
Two sad sparks blinking in the sun
Wait one minute
I had to listen for it
It was hidden in the fall
Hidden in the fall
Waiting on love to call
Hidden in the fall

Sad hopes I'd hidden under
Tangled inside of me
You spoke like broken thunder
Deep into the center of me.

I couldn't say what I was thinking
My heart shrinking
Two sad sparks blinking in the sun
Wait one minute
I had to listen for it
It was hidden in the fall
Hidden in the fall
Waiting on love to call
Hidden in the fall

I hear it call in the center of it all
You're the love of my life, the love of my life
I hear it all in the center of my heart
You're the love of my life, the love of my life
I hear it call in the center of it all
You're the love of my life, the love of my life
I hear it all in the center of my heart
You're the love of my life, the love of my life

Hjaltalín-I Feel You

I have no idea how their band name is pronounced, I have no idea what it means, but what matters in music is the feelings and the emotions that can create to each person that listens to the music. "Hjaltalín" is an indie band from Iceland. They formed back in 2004 and their last album "Enter 4" met an incredible success followed by more than positive reviews. I've just found them and I am already hooked. They know how to create emotions out of sound. You have the chance to listen one of their best songs "I Feel You" accompanied by an artistic music video. Enjoy my new discovery and keep on mind that music meets no frontiers.

Hjaltalín-I Feel You

See the eye,
see the eye?
It's in the dark,
it's in the dark.

Care for a lie?
I know that you are mine.
In my sleep,
there's a chance you'll be in my sleep.

But if that poor boy drains up,
I'll still be here for you to break my heart.
This fight's gone too long,
but that's the only life that i'll ever know.

I feel you.

I feel you.

I feel you.

Alex Clare-War Rages On

The last 2 weeks, we had in Greece 3 elections: local, ragional and for the EU. We managed to have a turning outcome and this is going to fire up some metaphorical guns from our partners in Europe. This is where Alex Clare fits. His brand new song just came out and guess what... its title is "War Rages On". Great match and excellent timing. Alex Clare is a British singer, born in 1985. Blues and Jazz is what made him love music but right now he is more into Drum n Bass and Dubstep mixed with acousting tunes and meaningful lyrics. His first hit was "Too Close", which most of you know it from the Internet Explorer 9 commercial. Billboard charts loved him and the people gave him the #7. He was also nominated for a Brit Award in best singer category. Alex Clare is a promising artist and you will love him even more when you start exploring his stuff. Watch the new music video and read the lyrics here.

Alex Clare-War Rages On

The War Rages On
You’ll be on my side
Through it all

Through hard shapes on team
We still survive for the far

Please don’t pass me by
Can’t you hear me calling at your name

Forgive the things I do
Don’t turn your back when I need you
The War Rages On

When darkness comes
 like a burning light
Through it all

When storm knocks me down
Call me from the death
Time after time

Please don’t pass me by
Can’t you hear me calling at your name

Please forgive the things I do
Don’t turn your back when I need you

War Rages On
I am still here by your side
Light up the dawn as the dark is all night

War Rages On
I am still here by your side
Light up the dawn as the dark is all night

Please don’t pass me by
Can’t you hear me calling at your name

Please forgive the things I do
Don’t turn your back when I need you
War Rages On

Kodaline-Perfect World

"Music should have a purpose. Our purpose is honesty" that's what they claim. Today on LOMW we have the Kodaline from Dublin. Those Irish young boys, know how to make good and fresh indie rock tunes. Their name is something that they made up and they wanted to be the ones to put a meaning into that name. Perfect World is an extremely cute and dreamy song and has the skills to ease you right away. Watch it here and read the lyrics too.

Kodaline-Perfect World

Touch gloves, yeah, it'll be alright
I always knew you had a heavy heart
Brother, brother
You're taking me back to the start

I saw your face in a photograph
Painting a picture of a better time
Brother, brother
You'll always be on my mind

Yeah

In a perfect world
In a perfect world
In a perfect, a perfect world

Touchdown to reality
It's not exactly what you had in mind, oh
Brother, brother
Was it only a matter of time

Yeah, oh

Maybe you've gotta let it be
Maybe time will tell, maybe you will see, oh
Brother, brother
You really shouldn't take it too hard

Oh

In a perfect world
In a perfect world
In a perfect world, singing

Ooooooooh

In a perfect world
In a perfect world
In a perfect, a perfect world

Ooooooooooooh

In a perfect world
In a perfect world
In a perfect world, singing

Ooooooooh

It'll be okay (In a perfect world)
It wouldn't have to be this way (In a perfect world)
In a perfect, a perfect world

The National-I Need My Girl

It was about time to write about The National. A rock-band formed by 5 members and currently based in Brooklyn. They met each other back in 1999 and created this mysteriously good band. Their dark kind of music and the lyrics can only make you listen to what they're saying. The artistic music video for "I Need My Girl" shows us that good music can be even better when accompanied by an excellent clip. The meaning of the song seems to divide the fans... Is it about drug addiction? Is it about being alone and far away from your home? Or maybe it is about depression? This is the magic element of music. You can decide for yourself and have a unique emotion. You can read the lyrics of the song here and watch the incredible music video! facebook.com/lyricsonmywall

The National-I Need My Girl

I am good, I am grounded
Davy says that I look taller
I can’t get my head around it
I keep feeling smaller and smaller
I need my girl
I need my girl

Remember when you lost your shit and
Drove the car into the garden
And you got out and said I’m sorry
To the vines and no one saw it
I need my girl
I need my girl

I’m under the gun again
I know I was the 45% of then
I know I was a lot of things
But I am good, I am grounded
Davy says that I look taller
I can’t get my head around it
I keep feeling smaller and smaller
I need my girl
I need my girl

There’s some things that I should never
Laugh about in front of family
In a week we’ll be together
Try to call you when I’m landed
I need my girl
I need my girl

Remember when you said I’m sorry
To the vines and no one saw it
I’ll try to call you from the party
It’s full of punks and cannonballers
I need my girl
I need my girl

I’m under the gun again
I know I was the 45% of then
I know I was a lot of things
But I am good, I am grounded
Davy says that I look taller
I can’t get my head around it
I keep feeling smaller and smaller
I need my girl
I keep feeling smaller and smaller
I need my girl
I keep feeling smaller and smaller

LOMW:  Καλώς ήρθες στο LOMW, Thom. Η γρήγορη ανταπόκρισή σου ήταν πραγματική έκπληξη για μας! Σε ευχαριστούμε πολύ γι'αυτό. Όπως σου είπα, έμαθα για σένα από έναν άλλο καλλιτέχνη από το Liverpool, τον Mick Flaherty. Μου είπε "Δες τον, είναι ιδιοφυία". Γεννήθηκες μόλις το 1990 -όπως κι εγώ- πιστεύεις ότι η ηληκία παίζει μεγάλο ρόλο όταν πρόκειται για την μουσική;

LOMW:  Ζεις και παίζεις στο Liverpool, όπου μύθοι όπως οι Beatles δημιουργούσαν την μουσική τους. Πόσο έυκολο είναι να χτίσεις την καριέρα σου εκεί τώρα;

LOMW:  Στο LOMW, μας αρέσει να παρουσιάζουμε ανεξάρτητους καλλιτέχνες με πολύ ταλέντο. Από το σύντομο βιογραφικό σου στο Facebook , πρόσεξα ότι δεν είσαι σε κάποια δισκογραφική, δεν μανατζάρεσαι και δεν έχεις βγει κάπου μέχρι τώρα. Πώς κέρδισες, λοιπόν την αναγνώριση από το BBC6 και πώς αισθάνθηκες;

TM: Το "Fresh On The Net" είναι ο τρόπος του Tom Robinson να φέρνει στο φως ανεξάρτητους καλλιτέχνες.

LOMW:  Περιγράφεις τον εαυτό σου ως σόλο καλλιτέχνη, όμως βρίσκεσαι και σε μια μπάντα. Ποιά είναι τα αρνητικά και ποιά τα θετικά των δύο;

LOMW:  Ακόμα και αν έχεις βγάλει το πρώτο και δεύτερο άλμπουμ σου δεν υπάρχνουν βίντεο κλιπς για κανένα από τα τραγούδια σου, πέρα από κάποιες ζωντανές παρουσιάσεις στο YouTube.Θα έπρεπε οι φανς σου να περιμένουν κάτι καλό σύντομα;

LOMW: "Moon Moon Shake It". Είναι ο τίτλος του 2ου άλμπουμ σου. Τί υπάρχει από πίσω...κάτι παρασκηνιακό κατά την παραγωγή που θα θέλαμε να ξερουμε;

LOMW:  Στο YouTube υπάρχουν κάποιες διασκευές από σένα, αν σου ζητούσα να διασκευάσεις τώρα ένα κομμάτι, ποιό θα ήταν και γιατί;

TM: Μια από τις αγαπημένες μου διασκευές είναι το  ‘You Make Loving Fun"των  Fleetwood Mac –  το λατρεύω αυτό το τραγούδι.

Interview: Thom Morecroft

It is always our pleasure to have talented musicians on #LOMW. Another bright example is Thom Morecroft from Liverpool. You have the chance to read what he said to us. So young but so talented! Remember: Morecroft is going to be big one day!

LOMW:  Welcome at LOMW, Thom. Your fast response was a real surprise for us! Thank you very much for that. As I told you, I’ve learned about you from another musician from Liverpool, Mick Flaherty. He told me, “Check him out, he is a genius”.  You were only born in 1990 –just like me - do you think that age is a big deal when we are talking about music?

TM: The generation you’re born into undoubtedly alters your social perspective. We’re in our early 20s during the biggest economic shake-up since the Great Depression – we can communicate with the entire world through a small telephone film machine in our hands but we’re never going to have solar energy on a mass scale. I think that affects our general day to day feelings about things to some extent, because we’re young adults at such a strange, uncertain and insane time. That has to feed into how you or I would hear or make music on some level. That we are young adults, in whichever time, changes that as well.

LOMW:  Living and playing in Liverpool, where myths like Beatles used to make music. How easy is to build a career there now?

TM: In many ways, the general character of the place is so parental. I can’t speak for others but I found when I moved here, the city wrapped its arms around me. People really value musicians here, and if you’ve got your head, heart and hands in the right places you can make a living from it for sure.

LOMW:  On LOMW, we love to present independent musicians with great talents. From your short bio in Facebook, we noticed that you are unsigned, unmanaged and unpublished. So, how did you get the recognition from BBC6 and how did you feel?

TM: Fresh On The Net is Tom Robinson’s way of getting unsigned artists radio exposure. When I first had a song played on BBC6 (Sexy Shade of Sunburn) I was over the moon. I have been played on the BBC Introducing Mixtape several times since then, and it is a special feeling. The first time I listened back to myself I was very nervous.

LOMW:  You describe yourself as a solo performer but you stand also in a band. What are the pros and cons of each?

TM: Well, the problem with being solo is that there’s no band, no camaraderie, not as many people to bounce ideas off and less of the big sound you can want sometimes. The problem with being in a band is it loses the intimacy and freedom of a solo acoustic gig, and is a lot less mobile. I love being able to play those fragile songs on my own, and the bigger, livelier songs in a band. It’s the best of both worlds for me.

LOMW:  Even though you have released your debut and second album, there is no music video of any of your songs apart from a few live sessions on YouTube. Should your fans wait for something soon?

TM: There are going to be some singles released in 2014, accompanied by some promotional films. Can’t say what just yet…

LOMW:  Moon Moon Shake It. The title of your second album.  What’s behind it? Any gaffes we should know during the production?

TM: It was an almost totally live album, aside from a few electric guitar parts and harmonies that were added on the second of two days recording. I remember going to buy a sandwich during the lunchtime of that day and walking about 2 miles, not realising everyone else had popped just round the corner to a small eatery there. A shameful memory. It was done relatively quickly, and perhaps the biggest gaffe is the weird album design I did myself for it.

LOMW:  On YouTube there are a few covers by you, but if I asked you right now to cover a song, which one would it be and why?

TM: One of my favourite cover songs to play is ‘You Make Loving Fun’ by Fleetwood Mac – totally in love with that song. I believe it’s about Christine McVie’s relationship with a lighting engineer. I have no idea but I almost always nearly burst into tears whilst playing it for no reason whatsoever.

LOMW:  Thank you again for being here and support our effort on LOMW. Before we call it a wrap, I want you to salute the Greeks in Greek! (Google Translate & Copy-Paste are allowed)

LOMW:  I hope you had fun doing this long-distance Q&A. We are here to support anything new from you! Take care and keep rocking!!!
